Dog Farts and Air Freshener (& Enter contest for Kindle Fire!)

I confess to being behind on book 6 of the Texas Montgomery Mavericks series. It’s entitled Texas Hustle. In case you are interested and join stuff like this, I do have a Pinterest folder with my inspirational pictures!

Anyway, I decided I would sit up late and write last night. My faithful retriever (we’ll call her Gaseous) did want to leave my side, which isn’t all that unusual. When I sit up, she’ll wait for me before she goes to bed. That doesn’t mean she stays AWAKE while I’m writing. But she’ll nap in the same room.

20141217_133442Last night, as usual, she flops down in front of my chair with a long sigh.  In a minute, a foul odor drifts up. I lean over my chair in time to hear the next fart and get hit in the face with the odor.

It was B-A-D

Grabbed a can of air freshener from the bathroom and sprayed.

Another toot, and she moves across the room, lays down, stays for less than a minute, gets up and leaves the room. She heads down the hall to the bedroom where my hubby is reading.

“Come get her,” he shouts.

I pretend not to hear.

Trust me. You would have too!

Got a dog too? Tell me about your baby.

And don’t forget to enter my Rafflecopter drawing for a KINDLE FIRE!

  1. We have a black lab who is spoiled and thinks he needs to be the center of attention. If I am on the phone or the grandchildren come over he will find something he should not chew on abd start chewing on it in my face. He only does it with me never my husband or my son. I have not been able to figure out a way to break him of it, I had really hoped he would outgrow it but he us 4 so I am thinking he’s not going to now.

  2. My two pugs generally get along but Dorie likes to be like velcro and be attached to me all the time. Last night, my other pug Cleo, wanted to lay next to me, where Dorie normally does. You could practically see the steam coming out of Dorie’s ears she was so mad. She would deliberately step on Cleo, climb over her and I kept telling Dorie to be nice. It was about an hour later and Cleo finally moved to her regular spot.

  3. I don’t currently have a dog but the last dog we had (we’ve only had 3 not a bunch – it just sounds bad) was named Molly. She and the 2nd dog we had – Lady – are most definitely my favorite dogs ever but Molly was lets just say very emotional. She became attached and she was somewhat spoiled (she was a rescue dog- we sent my sister to the ASPCA to rescue a small dog and instead she brought back an 80 lb Lab/Boxer mix – a Boxador). She hated dog food and only liked people food – though she also loved dog biscuits – and she had to have several dog biscuits at a time. Anyway – she had tear gas quality gas and thought she was a lap dog – she would wait till we would turn on the TV and sneak onto the couch and plant herself on someone’s lap – or on the floor if no one would let her on their lap – and then she would let them rip – they were loud and so smelly – people would literally tear up when she would let one loose. Even with her gas though…she was loved!

As for your hubby….lol…poor man….good for you for ignoring him though…..lol

    • My husband used to have a doberman. Max (the dobe, not my husband) was with my hubby and his friend in the basement. The guys were playing Backgammon (this was a long time ago!). Max backed up to friend (Curtis) and let one rip…so bad, the hair on Curtis’s head blew up from the gas!

They had to clear the room! LOL

  4. I do not have a dog myself, but my daughter does. She brings the little dear to visit sometimes. He seems to have the same issue as yours. He can bring tears to my eyes. Poor dear. He just can’t seem to help himself. I have found that lighting one of my candles helps make the air breathable again. As sweet as this guy is, I am rather glad he only visits on occasion and doesn’t live here. 😉 aka Becky

  5. I don’t have a dog but I have dog-sat for friends. Any time I’ve been around a gaseous dog, either it’s time to take them outside or its time for bed.
